Meet Celine Ferro, the clarinet virtuoso originally from Rhode Island!
As a chamber musician, Ferro is the clarinetist of the Kalliope Reed Quintet, with whom she has performed across New England and in Mexico; a force in the Boston based bass clarinet ensemble, Improbable Beasts, with whom she has performed across the U.S. and in Ireland; and the core clarinetist of Juventas New Music Ensemble, with whom she has performed across Greater Boston and New England. Seeking diverse collaborations that take her work outside of the typical music hall, Ferro is also the clarinetist and bass clarinetist of Shibui, where she can be heard live at venues like the Lizard Lounge and the Sinclair in Cambridge, or on their newest album, Quint, which is on the Ronin Rhythm Records label. Ferro co-founded the woodwind trio Mythic Winds, and has performed with other notable chamber ensembles and organizations including Some Assembly Required, Arts Empowering Life, and the Harvard Radcliffe Chorus.
As an orchestral musician, she has graced the concert halls of New England with the Boston Civic Symphony, Symphony NH, Brookline Symphony Orchestra, Sound Icon, Cambridge Philharmonic, New England Philharmonic, Lowell House Opera, Apollo Ensemble of Boston, and was a recent soloist with the New England Film Orchestra. Reaching audiences in venues like Radio City Music Hall in New York City and Symphony Hall in Boston, she has performed in orchestras alongside artists and groups such as Sarah Brightman, Hanson, Il Divo, Il Volo, Genshin Impact, Anat Cohen, Steve Lippia, Kelli O'Hara and Matthew Morrison. She was the bass clarinetist in the premiere of Wayne Shorter and Esperanza Spalding's jazz opera ...(Iphigenia), played in the Fiddler on the Roof national tour in Boston, and freelances in many other interesting projects in and around the New England area.
Celine Ferro is not just a freelancer and performer, but a mentor; sharing her expertise currently as an accomplished clarinet teacher at the Winchester Community Music School and Powers Music School. She has previously taught and coached at Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester Community Music School, and Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras.
In addition to being a performing and teaching artist, Celine Ferro is an avid hiker, reader, and coffee drinker.

Other notable clarinet teachers include Craig Nordstrom, Bill Wrzesien, and Mark Miller. Celine's first clarinet teacher was her mom, Charlene Valk, who has continued to support her dreams and still comes to her performances to this day.
